The Centre of Rehabilitation Excellence is a recognized leader in East Texas for its Work Hardening/Work Conditioning Programs, as well as its diversity of Physical Performance Testing. CORE takes advantage of its 2400 square ft. Test Centre for work specific rehabilitation and physical performance testing using CYBEX and LIDO equipment. In addition, CORE is also the leader in Job Simulation, with onsite equipment that no one else in East Texas has. This equipment includes a full size Railcar, Oil Platform, 30 ft Barrel Ladder, and unequal terrain similar to what could be found on any job site.
CORE's Education/Prevention program focuses on basic anatomy, identification of work-place risks, review of safe work practices and practical methods to eliminate or minimize injury on the job.
Specific offerings include education and wellness programs, ergonomic assistance, employee screenings, and design of safe work area.
CORE's Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs) provide an objective assessment of the employee's work and functional capabilities. Our FCEs include components from the employee's actual job, so we are able to evaluate performance in real work situations, and include thorough and objective evaluations of function within the 3 domains of work: musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and psychophysical.
CORE's Injured Worker Rehabilitation program focuses on functional rehabilitation for workers in the acute state to facilitate progression to normal function. Treatment emphasizes limited use of passive modalities with a focus on education and exercise. The worker is viewed as an "Industrial Athlete" and is an active participant in the recovery process.
CORE's Work Hardening and Work Conditioning programs are designed for those who are unable to return to work due to unresolved physical problems following acute/sub-acute care, or for those expected to perform highly rigorous physical activity upon return to work.
CORE offers a variety of Pre-Employment Testing and utilizes the WorkSTEP's Program for all "Post Offer Testing" and "Fit for Duty Testing" to local employers.
CORE's Job Site Analysis forms the foundation for successful treatment of work-site injuries. This in-depth examination identifies the most important skills, abilities and knowledge necessary for successful job performance.
